I did not get a lot of work done today, as I was watching the stock market, gold, and the prognosticators.  I was tickled to see the Dow down 634 points by the end of the day and gold up over $1,700.00 all day.  I own no gold and have nothing invested in the stock market, so I have no direct interest in what appears to be the consequences of government malfeasance.

I actually take no joy in this economic meltdown, but I am glad it is finally getting in gear.  I am tired of watching the slow decline and the ruinous actions and inactions of the morons we have collectively elected to govern.  When those morons have finished running our economy over the cliff, we can achieve a "reset" and get back to business.  But not before getting out the pitchforks, tar, and feathers.

I figure that I can be a little more sanguine about the whole mess because I have been a prepper for over fifteen years.  While the preps are nowhere near complete, I feel a lot better than I would if I had only three days worth of food, no money in the bank, and no defenses. 

Although it is difficult to tell what will happen over the coming months and years, and many predictions have already been made (including by me) and not come to pass, it does not appear that much good is going to come out of the country's present financial predicament.  At least not until those who have caused this mess are called to account for their actions.  I really believe that this may be the last opportunity to make preparations before financial circumstances become dire, including devalued currency, massive inflation, increased unemployment, and possible shortages.  I am and have been making lists of food and tangibles that will be necessary in the future and/or will maintain their value. 

Additionally, I have been taking note of the increasing social unrest and violence in the country.  I have decided that I will carry concealed wherever I lawfully can, and am checking into more methods of concealed carry.  This includes new holsters, magazine carriers, and vehicle lockboxes.  I am determined that I will not make a good victim.

Other than that, I have just been trying to digest the all the news and information.  There was a whole lot of coverage on the negotiations to raise the debt limit, which didn't mean an damn thing in the end.  The result was just business as usual:  Increased spending and no actual cuts.  One step closer to the abyss.

If You Aren't Votin', Quit Bitchin'

Without naming names, I have read plenty of commentators stating that they do not vote in elections.  Excuses range from "What does it matter?" to "I won't give legitimacy to this government."  Most I have read are supporters of restoring this country to its Constitutional foundation, a worthy goal.

Refusing to vote, however, is inconsistent with restoring this country to its Constitutional foundation.  The Constitution established our Republic, a representative democracy where voters participate in the government by electing representatives.  Constitutionally, this was by direct election of Congressmen and indirect election of Senators through state government.  Our central government and most, if not all, of our state governments are thoroughly corrupt and operating extracontstitutionally, and this has occurred by the voters' choice of representatives and apparent continuing consent through election after election.

The way to begin the change we need is to exercise our right to vote in representatives who will restore Constitutional government.  Yes, before change will occur the government does have to be so bad that even your average idiot voter is persuaded to vote against the collectivists.  In the meantime, supporters of Constitutional government will continue to be a minority, having to vote for some establishment politicians, vote for "fringe" candidates, or taking it upon ourselves to run for office.  The key here is that, if we believe in Constitutional government, by its very definition it requires us to participate.  That means voting.

I am disturbed by the prospect of Constitution-loving individuals who refuse to vote.  If they will not participate in the process now, when the Republic most needs individuals to participate and steer the country back to its Constitutional foundation, when will they participate?

Will it be when voters like me have finally participated and persuaded enough that voters will have elected a government that returns to Constitutional principles?  Or will it be after the "revolution" that some say will be necessary to end the increasing tyranny as the government further deviates from the Constitution?

I have to admit, I get nervous when someone refuses to participate in Constitutional government at the same time he or she is demanding a return to it.  It seems like some will only vote when they get the government they want.  Sometimes I am afraid to ask exactly what that is.

I have already voted this year.  Although I will likely continue to dislike the government that I will get, I will respect the Constitution and participate.  If there is a need to change the government due to its continuing down the road of tyranny, I will respect the Constitution and participate.  In between, I will continue to be critical of government that oversteps its Constitutional bounds.

This is my personal feeling about those who do not participate:  If you aren't votin', quit bitchin'.

Legal Survival No. 2: Avoid "Day of Reckoning" Nonsense

First of all, I don't prep just for some cataclysmic end-of-the-world event where the U.S. government will fail and I get my chance to play Mad Max in the post-apocalyptic world. I prep because situations can happen in which I must be reliant upon myself for surival. These range from power outages to the collapse of Western Civilization.

Speaking of the collapse of Western Civilization, it is clear to anyone with two brains cells working at the same time that Western Civilization is in the process of imploding. The reasons are far too numerous to discuss in a blog post. Aside from the pervasive intrusions into our God-given liberty by our supposedly representative federal government, our government has reached the point where it cannot pay out the spoils that the citizens have voted themselves from the public treasury. The last act in this farce will be when the Gub'mint credit card is declined.

Many states, counties, and municipalities face a similar fate. Similar, and not identical, only because states, counties, and municipalities do not have the ability to print money. Any government can borrow with the consent of its constituents. Most have borrowed and/or run up deficits beyond the ability of a vindictive, spurned ex-wife at the casino with the ex-husband's wallet and credit cards. And all with the consent of the governed. After all, 52% of the country voted for Barack Hussein Obama, including a majority of non-felons who were born in the United States and actually voted their own ballot. In my own state, in the last two elections a majority of voters chose the libtard Christine Gregoire for governor, including 100% of the convicted-felon, post-vivos, incapacitated, non-citizen, and non-existent (also known as ACORN-registered) voters.

Now, finally, I am able to get to the point. I have been reading some posts indicating that in this collapse cycle and/or revolution there will be a day of reckoning for government employees, at the hands of liberty-loving citizens. There is some disagreement on targets: It ranges from only politicians and judges and others who have been direct participants in destroying liberty/the constitution/the republic, to all government employees. By the way, all elected officials and appointees (even judges) are government (or public) employees.

This idea that any government employees should be targeted, unless they are directly threatening you or your family, is nonsense. Despite the encroachment of the FedGov on our liberties, we are not at war and are not even close to being at war, no matter how much "tyrannical government" hyperbole is drawn up. We still have something that was unavailable to the colonists in 1776: We can vote to change our government. The government we have was voted into power by the citizens; this government and its abuses are what the collective citizenry voted for and apparently wants. An opportunity exists in November 2010 to change the government, and towards that purpose I recommend voting out every politician who has crapped on the Constitution. That means just about every Democrat, Republican, Independent, and other affiliated politician serving in Congress, state legislatures, governorships, county commissions, and city councils across the country. Yes, we do have a bill of grievances to be resolved, but if we want change we must use our votes first.

Despite my declaration that we are not at war with the government and no where close to being at war, the government has passed laws and taken actions which may reasonably be interpreted by free citizens as increasing the power of the government at the expense of individual liberty. As a free citizen I do take offense at such laws and actions by the government and I do believe that free citizens do have grievances against this currently extra-Constitutional government which need redress.

I know that many have lost confidence in the power of the vote to change the government from its liberty-destroying path. I recall an exchange I had with Ye Old Furt about what I can do with my vocation to help others in the prepping community. I am not a gunsmith, millwright, farmer, military tactician, or other profession which may be inherently useful in a post-government, post-collapse/apocalypse world. I do, however, have legal knowledge that I can pass on to others in order to help those of us in the "liberty movement" and to convert others to the cause. Our founding fathers invested much time in appealing to the citizenry and seeking peaceful redress to grievances prior to targeting the government for revolution. We should do the same prior to taking up arms.

What I do on a regular basis is to talk to others I know and encounter about conditions in this country, how far we have strayed from the Constitution, what individual rights are recognized by the Constitution, and what we can do to change the government and restore liberty. What can you do? What do you do?

This topic has been simmering beneath the surface with me for some time. The main reason is that I see derogatory references from time-to-time, even from bloggers I respect such as Jim Dakin and Michael Boone, in regard to lawyers. Not all lawyers are cogs in the wheel of government oppression. Most are actually decent people, just as most travel-trailer dwelling survivalist types are decent people. I am a lawyer and I am getting a little tired of the over-generalizations about lawyers. I am especially tired of the oft-quoted, mis-contexted Shakespeare, "first thing we do, we kill all the lawyers", which was actually expressed by Dick the butcher in support of Jack Cade's socialistic revolution with Cade himself as dictator. So I naturally take offense at the idea that rank and file, non-lawmaking, non-policy-making government employees should be fair game.

I agree with M.D. Creekmore that government will not disappear in the event of a collapse or other cataclysm. Government will likely still exist, and will likely still be able to take care of anyone who moves to attack it. By definition of a revolution, the government will still exist in the event of a revolution. Attacks on government will be met with government action: persecution, prosecution, suicide by government agent, etc.

Besides the certainty of government action against anti-government action, there are other considerations of a more practical matter:

1) The inherent unconscionableness of attacking low-level, non-policymaking employees. Low-level employees are citizens and have friends and family just like almost everyone else. The public opinion backlash for attacking a low-level employee would be disastrous for the attacker(s) and harmful to the liberty movement.

2) Consistency would require attacking any person or entity that "feeds the beast". I am referring here to persons who have advocated all governmental employees as fair game because they have chosen to be a cog in the machine. So, any person who knowingly and willingly provides service or support to the oppressive government is a legitimate target, if we are to be consistent. Did you pay your taxes? If yes, put an "X" on your forehead. Did you provide service or materials to a goverment entity, even if it was just mowing the courthouse lawn? If yes, put an "X" on your forehead. Do you show up for work at a company that provides services or materials to a government entitiy? If yes, put an "X" on your forehead. Do you get a government check of any kind? If yes, put an "X" on your forehead. So what if you could go to prison for not paying taxes, or lose your home for not going to work, or starve to death if you don't cash the government check, but we are talking about principles of liberty here, which require such sacrifice.

3) There are too many liberty-loving, yet peaceful citizens who would be alarmed at the idea of attacking low-level government employees, and would turn in anyone who had even formulated a plan to do so. I am one of them.

4) There are a lot of government employees who are liberty-loving and armed citizens of this country. Just as any nut-job who thinks he is going to "kill all the lawyers" had better bring his own body bag when targeting me (mine are on backorder), he had better not ignore the fact that many government employees also believe in their right to keep and bear arms and to defend the life and liberty of themselves and their families.

I had not originally thought of making this a "Legal Survival" post, but I realized that I was due for another installment and that this is a perfect opportunity to pass on some legal information for preppers.

So here it is: Don't get any ideas of exacting retribution on government employees or that government employees are fair game in the coming revolution or efforts to restore the Constitutional Republic. The usual exceptions apply for defense of self and family, although you better be damn sure that you or your loved ones are in danger of imminent death or grave bodily injury. In the case of revolution or restoration of the republic, execution of those responsible for tyrannous acts would be proper only after due process of law. If you expect the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, make sure that you are prepared to guarantee that right for all citizens.

Leftist Purges Coming?

One hallmark of the left, whether it be the Stalinists, Maoists, National Socialists, or Castroites, is political purges. Remove all opposition from within the political structure. Political structure means civil service, police, military, educational system, etc. In other words, any government entity which has contact with and influence on the public.

A purge does not necessarily consist of executions or disappearances. For example, the public education system of this country was largely purged of anyone capable of critical thinking decades ago and filled up with agenda-driven union hacks.

I am concerned that a political purge of Constitution-abiding police officers by the federal government may be coming. Why? Because the feds would rather have your local police be loyal to the feds during a national crisis than be loyal to the citizens and the Constitution.

This idea came to me the other day when I was talking with a couple of friends about the state of our country and what is happening locally. Both have been recently employed in law enforcement, one currently. Both were concerned about federal grand jury investigations of the local police department.

I have to admit that I am not a fan of some of the recent shenanigans in our local police department and that I tend to agree with David Codrea and Will Grigg that a number of police believe they are special and above the law. So I was not immediately sympathetic to the local police feeling the squeeze from the feds.

It then occurred to me that the feds investigating the Spokane police is a bit unusual. The police here do not appear to be engaged in massive corruption schemes and wholesale civil rights violations. The rights violations here appear to be mostly the ordinary out of control cop getting physical with a citizen and the usual blue wall of silence. However, we do have a good state Attorney General in Rob McKenna and there are lawyers in the area who have been quite successful at going after the police for wrongdoing. Intervention by the feds just does not seem to be necessary.

The police officers who abuse their position and the citizens they serve are vastly outnumbered by the officers who faithfully do their job, believe in the Constitution and Constitutional government, and do not intend to obey unlawful orders. These police officers are a threat to Obama's "progressive" (Marxist) takeover of the country.

Remember when Obama said, "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" on July 2, 2008? Link. Just what would this "civilian" force be used for? To enforce the progressive agenda is my thinking. This would be the Obamaist Democratic version of the Nazi brownshirts. Lest anyone think this was just a campaign speech idea, see this.

Those law enforcement officers and government officials loyal to the progressive establishment will be tasked with enforcing the unconstitutional progressive laws that come out of the Democratic Congress and the Obama administration. They will be assisted by the Obamashirts (the civilian national defense force envisioned by Obama), or it may be the other way around.

The left cannot have law enforcement officers or government officials who place their duties to the Constitution and the citizens above loyalty to the progressive movement. Those who would adhere to the Constitution and their duty to the citizens and refuse to put down citizen protests against the unconstitutional laws and usurpation of power by the left have to be purged. It happened in the USSR, Nazi Germany, Mussolini's Italy, Castro's Cuba, Chavez' Venezuela, Communist China, and on and on.

The citizens of this country are too well armed for too many "disappearances" to happen before an open revolt would occur. Likewise, it would be impossible to get far with executions of purged officers and officials before open revolt would occur. The left will use the silent purge of federal legal action against those officers and officals not loyal to the progressives. For every one that is targeted by the FBI, the U.S. Attorney, or other federal agency, ten good men will resign or retire. I am told that this is already happening within the ranks of the CIA. It won't take long before those officers and government officials who uphold their oath to the Constitution will be a small minority of those serving.

This Could be a Good Year

If we have elections this fall.

Former President and Cumspotter-in-Chief Bill Clinton has come out against groups standing up for Constitutional government. Clinton refers to them as "Hatriot" groups. Read it here. Of course, Clinton, like most lawyers turned politicians, could not be mistaken for a Constitutional scholar.

I think this bodes well for the anti-Democrat movement in the upcoming election. Historically, Bill Clinton has rarely, if ever, boosted a Democrat to victory. Just about every time 'ole Bill has been trotted out to rescue some Democrat in trouble, the Democrat has lost. I believe that this November will have more of the same. The Democratic Party should pay Clinton overtime to stump for as many of their ilk as humanly possible.

Other good news is the poll from the New York Times and CBS News, two bastions of liberal idiocy and Obamania. The poll reports that 52% of the public believes that Obama is moving us towards socialism. That is great in itself, as it shows that some Kool-Aid drinkers must be coming around. More interesting is the finding that 92% of Tea Party people agree with that 52% of the population, that the Tea Party members oppose Obama on policy principles, and that Tea Party members are wealthier, better educated, and more likely to vote. 97% are registered to vote.

What is most interesting about the poll is that the polltakers had to reduce consideration of Tea Party backers, because there was an "oversampling" of Tea Partiers in the telephone polling. The pollsters believed they had reached an artificially high number of Tea Partiers, and reduced their numbers and influence upon the results of the poll. I would expect this from liberal pollsters, I am only surprised that they admitted to doing it. The pollsters in all likelihood had a fair sampling, and the number of Tea Party supporters is likely higher than the pollsters reported.

This would mean: More than 52% believe Obama is taking us to socialism. More than 52% would prefer a smaller, less intrusive federal government to a larger one. More than 50% think that Obama has expanded government too much in trying to deal with the recession. More than 51% believe the economy would have improved without the bailouts. None of this is good news for Obama's minions running for re-election.

The Obocrats are in deep doo-doo. This could be a good year.

Frank Rich: Racist, Marxist, Moonbat

My commentary is based upon this Frank Rich op-ed, "The Rage is Not About Health Care." I had originally thought to title my commentary, "Frank Rich is symbolic of what is wrong with this country", but decided that if Frank can resort to hyperbole, false characterizations, and name-calling, that I would keep to the high road and call a spade a spade.

Frank starts out describing the "apoplectic" reactions of Karl Rove and Rep. John Boehner, R-OH, to the so-called health care bill. Frank needs to get out a little more. If he would spend some time outside his ivory tower, he would realize that Rove and Boehner represent the feelings of at least 60% of the population. The majority of the populace do not want the health care bill and are not being represented by their elected officials in Congress. To elitist Frank, non-representation is not a concern because our liberal betters know what we need.

Next Frank goes on the defensive for those miscreant congressmen who voted for Obamacare. It is not enough for Frank to make the outrageous statement that death threats are being made. (Actually a few death threats aren't surprising. Remember that the Left actually cheered for a movie about President Bush being assassinated.) Frank has to add a sinister element to the public displeasure with the Obamacare supporters. "Civil rights hero" John Lewis, "openly gay" Barney Frank, and "black representative" Emanuel Cleaver are cited by Frank as targets of public anger over Obamacare. I, and the vast majority of people protesting Obamacare, don't care if John Lewis, Barney Frank, and Emanuel Cleaver are orange, straight as Pat Robertson, and bonafide patriots. Obamacare is the socialist camel's nose under the tent of liberty and free people are not happy about it.

Frank compares Obamacare to Roosevelt's New Deal, Johnson's Great Society, and the Civil Rights Act. He concludes that, compared to these ideological rips in the fabric of our society, Obamacare is no big deal. Frank is flat-out wrong. The New Deal is known to have prolonged the suffering of the American people through the Great Depression and has laid waste to trillions of dollars of earnings.

Social Security alone, aside from the pillaging of the social security trust fund for runaway government spending, currently removes some twelve percent of earned income from the economy under the guise of old-age income security. Add on the medicare tax from Johnson's Great Society, and another three percent of earned income is removed from the economy. Total removed from the paychecks of working American's for social security programs: 15.3 percent of earned income. And workers from age 16 on will not see a dime of benefit until at least age 62.

Johnson's Great Society, aside from adding a health care tax to everyone's earned income, made fathers an endangered species. What does a child need a father for when there is Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC), United States Department of Agriculture food stamps, Housing and Urban Development Section 8 housing, utilities assistance, free medicaid health insurance, free college tuition, and subsidized (nearly free) daycare? Generations of children do not have relationships with their fathers because the state has made fathers unnecessary. Why should a mother keep a pesky father around when the state will pay her to get rid of him? I know this from experience, having been a family law attorney for over fifteen years.

Other highlights of the Great Society include the Model Cities Act. Remember Detroit, Michigan? The liberals don't want you to remember, because Detroit is a nearly-dead city and was a prime recipient of assistance under the Model Cities Act. Watch this video by Steven Crowder. Oh, and of course we have Affirmative Action. Affirmative Action has been perhaps the most racist legislation enacted since slavery was outlawed in this country. Affirmative Action is so contrary to the egalitarian, rise-on-your-own-merits heritage of this country that it has created an environment in which the able are marginalized for the benefit of underqualified minorities. The most visible result of Affirmative Action and the damage it has caused our Republic are the Marxist occupants of the White House, Michelle and Barry Soetoro. Forget qualifications, or even the requirement that a presidential candidate be a natural-born citizen, just vote for Barry because he is black.

That leads me to the Civil Rights Act. Noble purpose, bad execution. This camel's nose has led to protected classes for everyone but white males. In creating special protections for every minority class in existence, the only true minority left in this country is the white male.

So, if Obamacare is hardly as consequential as the New Deal, the Great Society, and the Civil Rights Act, Frank can keep it. Frank's purpose in mentioning the FDR and LBJ era programs is based upon his mistaken belief that these are popularly recognized as "good" government intervention and that anyone who opposes them is a racist troglodyte.

No, free people in this country are resistant to Obamacare and other liberal/progressive/socialist/Marxist programs for reasons that a pampered, pseudo-intellectual, Francophile turd like Frank cannot begin to understand.

First, opposition to Obamacare is about taxation. Four years of taxes before real implementation begins. Not to mention the fact that all working Americans already pay a health care tax for medicare that most of us don't receive. Not to mention other stealth taxes such as the ten percent tax on tanning salons that Frank blithely referenced in his article. Frank would be screaming if a ten percent tax were levied upon his income in addition to the taxes he already pays. If Frank were residing in my home state of the People's Republic of the Other Washington, I would use the referendum process to target his sorry ass for extreme taxation just as his liberal cohorts target the working-class producers of this country to finance their utopian oppression.

Second, opposition to Obamacare is about representation. Representation as in paying attention to the wishes of the electorate, not the fat-ass op-ed columnists who pronounce what is best for American from the offices of their morally and financially bankrupt newspapers. The American people are overwhelming opposed to Obamacare and were not represented by our traitorous senators and representatives.

Third, and most importantly, opposition to Obamacare is about the Constitution and liberty. Frank could care less about the Constitution. True Constitutional scholars recognize that the federal government cannot control state governments and that forcing individuals to purchase a product (such as health insurance) is unconstitutional. Lightweight intellectuals like Frank cite the Commerce Clause. Frank does not recognize the potential for abuse of the Commerce Clause, which could be used to require him to wear a pink tutu and slippers while writing his column, as his column does enter into interstate commerce. My health care, in my state of residence, is not an interstate commerce issue and is further protected by the Tenth Amendment.

Further, the liberty of a free people is being infringed by Obamacare. Aside from having to pay for the health insurance of other people, which is in itself an infringement upon my liberty, I have the right to determine what health care I want, if any at all. It is an impermissible infringement upon my liberty to force me to purchase health insurance or to pay a tax for not purchasing health insurance. If I want to pay a private doctor, a clinic, an insurance company, an HMO, or the local hospital for my health care, that is my right.

I hope that Frank has a fortified place to hide as he continues to side against freedom-loving Americans who are not going to have infringements to their liberties thrust upon them by an oppressive socialist regime. I do not advise that anyone throw bricks or any other solid building materials at Frank. This is not out of concern for Frank, whose demise could be filed under "civic improvement", but out of my concern that freedom-loving Americans will get better use out of saving such materials for building their bunkers.

The revolution is coming.

The Democrats have managed to push that obamanation of a health care bill through the house. Without a single Republican vote they will effectively be taking over one-sixth of the American economy. My representative, Cathy McMorris-Rodgers, did not vote for the economic death bill.

Out of the 219 Democraps who voted for this Marxist manifesto, I am going to find the one's that are in nearby districts, then do what I can to contribute to their un-election in the fall. I encourage everyone else to actively work against these 219 traitors to the Republic.

I, for one, am mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.

Voting: Forestalling or Aiding & Abetting?

2010 will be the twenty-fourth year in which I have voted. I can't think of a lot of good that has come out of it.

I can count on one finger the number of Democrats I have voted for. Unless the Republican was an out-and-out crook and the Democrat had some redeeming qualities, I just cannot bring myself to pull the lever for the cesspool of big government, high tax, anti-small business, pro-union, environmental wacko, anti-gun, pro-gay rights, pro-minority rights, pro-illegal immigrant waste that the Democratic Party has been in my adult lifetime. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against anybody wanting to live his life anyway he wants to as long as it is not thrust in my face. If you don't want to own a gun, please don't. I promise that I won't defend you with mine.

Most of the time I have voted Republican because my interests are low taxes, small government, and individual rights. Any Democratic politician who promised sympathy with my interests was almost certainly a liar. With Republicans, at least conservative Republicans, there was a better chance the politicians actually supported my views (excepting RINOs and some of the religious right). Despite promising elements of the Libertarian and Reform parties in the past twenty years, there really hasn't been much of an alternative to the Ass and Elephant Show.

While my disgust with the Democrats knows no bounds, I have become extremely disillusioned with the Republican Party. Instead of differentiating itself from the Democratic Party, the Republicans have spent a generation being the "me, too" party. With Democrats the growth of government from Franklin Roosevelt forward has been exponential. When Republicans are in power the growth is only slightly less than exponential. When the Democrats want the government to take over and socialize the health care system, Republicans should say, "NO!!!!!". Instead, they just come up with a less-intrusive, less socialist government takeover.

I am beginning to believe that voting Republican is only forestalling the collapse and the end of the America I grew up in. With Republicans in power, it will still happen, it will just take a little longer. Maybe, just maybe we can get this over with a lot sooner and rebuild this country if we let Democrats finish the demolition job they have started on this country. Instead of voting for Republicans, or Libertarians, or not voting at all, we should all vote for Democrats in November 2010. Let them finish their destruction so that we citizens can organize our militias, round up the Obamorons, and commence rebuilding this country without them.

Voting for Democrats in order to hasten them along their destructive path is not the same as joining the Kool-Aid drinkers who elected the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and, in the case of my state, such dubious intellects as Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. Voting for Democrats allows them to finish the now-inevitable collapse and to own the mess completely. It also makes cleaning up Washington and every other political capital that much easier. When the landscape is neck-deep in Democrats, one can be much more indiscriminate in the use of the pitchfork.

Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln: Both Rotten Bastards

Catchy title, eh? Actually, this is a post advocating Anarchism, but a good lead-in is a discussion of how Lincoln and Obama have trampled States' and individual rights.

Just as Abraham Lincoln is noted in history as having saved the Union and ended the practice of slavery (in the seceding states), the One, Barack Hussein Obama, is supposed to be the first post-racial president, the one who preserves the Union in the face of our current calamity, and sets us on a new path to prosperity. In school we were taught to idolize Lincoln, and he is considered by many to be one of our great presidents. The mainstream media idolizes Obama and dutifully reports the Obamaganda to the public, urging us to consider him to be a great president.

Lincoln and Obama do have one thing in common that qualifies both as rotten bastards: the centralization of federal authority over the states and the citizens. When the Southern states asserted their rights, the answer from Lincoln's Washington was that the States could not assert their rights and withdraw from the Union. The Union was not made up of the several States; the States were merely components of the single enormous state and were by force returned to the federal structure. Fast forward to 2010, where only fringe elements espouse the concept of the individual State having rights. In this age a gluttonous federal government taxes and regulates nearly every aspect of life in the States, and the States line up like beggars at a soup kitchen for their handouts from the federal master. Obama is the latest master to occupy the plantation mansion, taxing our lifeblood away from us and centralizing federal authority to a degree not seen in any living person's lifetime. He has the banks and financial sector answering to him, he controls two of the three remaining automakers, he has granted Interpol sweeping immunity over its actions on American soil, he is proposing limiting our energy use through cap and trade, he is taking away our rights to determine our own health care choices, he is allowing us to be overrun with illegal immigrants and siccing his federal goons on local lawmen who have enforced immigration laws, his attorneys and BATFE agents are threatening states who have enacted home-state gun laws, and he is conspiring with the United Nations and Mexico to curtail Americans' Second Amendment rights. These attempts (and successes) at conolidating federal power are frightening.

The point is not to engage in a litany of Obama's fascist agenda, although he is the current president and enemy of the States. The Obama agenda, while more audacious than that of past presidents, is a continuation of the erosion of States' and individuals' rights. The comparison with Lincoln is apt in that it shows that the conspiracy to deny the rights of the States and the citizens has long been in progress. It can be said that the enactment of the Constitution itself served to consolidate federal power at the expenses of the States and their citizens. Consider Murray Rothbard's view that the Constitutional Convention was "nothing but a 'coup d'état,' centralizing power and destroying the far more tolerable arrangements of the Articles of Confederation". If the Constitutional Convention was not a centralization of federal power at the expense of the states and citizens, why were amendments necessary to limit the new federal power?

I admit that a few of the aforementioned thoughts are not original to me. Another that is not original to me, but that I am giving serious consideration to, is the idea of becoming an Anarchist. Conservative, liberal, Democrat, or Republican is to subscribe to the current order. The order that continues and expands the federal dominance over the States and their citizens. The dominance is so entrenched and corrupt that no one can even effectively challenge its continued existence. Yes, you can protest, but you cannot take your ball and go home. The Confederate States of America found out the hard way. Even the Libertarians do not challenge the federal beast's continued existence, they only want to pare it back to necessary functions.

The Tenth Amendment, reserving all rights to the States and the people which are not expressly granted to the federal government, is effectively dead. The only route left for reclaiming and reasserting our God-given Constitutional rights is through a revolution. None of the three major political parties is a place for revolutionaries. All three parties want to run the plantation; none want to burn it down and start over. There is no place at the table for those who want to end the tyranny of centralized federal power and give the power back to the States and citizens.

That makes Anarchism attractive as a political movement. Deconstruction of the federal behemoth. Restoration of the rights of the individual. Association of individuals in governance by their consent, which may be withdrawn.

I have read some blogs which reference the supposed buildup of USNORTHCOM forces under orders from Comrade Obama in anticipation of a rebellion in January 2010. I have even had this information emailed to me by persons I consider to be level- headed. All reference an article in the EU Times dated November 28, 2009. A follow up article appeared December 16, 2009. I have to admit that I was initially giving credence to this EU Times organization.

However, something didn't seem right. I noticed that the EU Times cited other news organizations and blogs, so it was not using original sources. After clicking on some of the articles' citations, I realized that the EU Times was editorializing based on secondary sources. Not terribly bad, as the MSM constantly editorializes while pretending to offer news reporting. After all, how many "news" programs consist of reporters interviewing each other?

What is much worse is that the EU Times appears to be the "news" front for a white nationalist organization, and is perceptibly racist and anti-semitic in its content. Don't believe me? Click here for "white extinction" topics, here for "interracial" topics and here for holocaust denial.

The Mainstream Media is so liberal, pro-Obama, anti-American, and (dare I say it) anti-white American that it would be great to have a reputable source of news for what is really happening in America and the world. The racist and anti-semitic EU Times is not it.

Gasbag Gore Vidal Predicts Military Dictatorship

Famously liberal gasbag Gore Vidal is predicting that a military dictatorship is in America's future.
I've always considered Vidal to be somewhat of a fringe element on the left. However, for someone who could probably be counted on to be a fervent Obama supporter, it is disturbing to hear Vidal predicting that only a military dictatorship can hold things together now. This is not inconsistent with information I have received from some credible sources about population control efforts in the event of a national, or even regional, crisis.
Although Vidal can be reliably counted on to bash Republicans and conservatives, his commentary on the Obama leftists is somewhat enlightening. Vidal views the Obamites as inexperienced and unable to effectively lead. Not good news in these trying times.

Obummer Deactivates flag@whitehouse.gov

Our Cornholer-in-Chief, Comrade Obama, has deactivated flag@whitehouse.gov. This was the email address to inform on all of those nogoodnicks who opposed the Carter II administration's efforts to ration our health care. Story here.

The news story spends a lot of space bemoaning those who unwittingly became unwilling recipients of government spam after emailing to flag@whitehouse.gov. No mention was given to what I consider the real reason the email address was taken down: I believe it was overloaded by emails critical of Obummer's plans to institute third-world style health care in the U.S. I contributed a few, and hope that many other patriotic Americans did the same.

Meanwhile, we should all visit BHO's replacement site, http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck, and give it the same treatment.

Oklahoma House Passes Sovereignty Bill, Senate Likely to Follow

The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed a resolution declaring its sovereignty! Way to go, Oklahoma! Story here.

Chances are good that the Oklahoma Senate will also pass the resolution.

The resolution, HCR 1028, does not require approval by Governor Brad Henry. The Governor had vetoed a previous bill HJR 1003 which also declared Oklahoma's sovereignty.

Cheers to the Oklahoma House, and to the Senate if it passes the resolution as expected. Jeers to Governor Henry.

I'M A DOMESTIC TERRORIST

According to what I have been reading about the latest Department of Homeland Security report about domestic terrorism concerns, I have come to the conclusion that I am a domestic terrorist. According to DHS, I fit the profile because I:

*Am anti-government (at least the current incarnation of the Carter administration);

*Am, as previously stated, antagonistic to the current administration, especially over its policies on firearms ownership, immigration, and expansion of social programs;

*Believe in the 10th Amendment to the Constitution, which favors state authority over federal authority;

*Have several "single issues" that I am dedicated to, such as pro-gun, pro-life, and anti-illegal immigration; and

*Am focused on the economy: loss of jobs, home foreclosures, and massive bank bailouts that we cannot afford.

If believing in the Constitution and wanting to restore the republic to its former glory makes me a domestic terrorist, I will gladly wear that label as my own red badge of courage.

EyeWitless News Update: No Rumble for Jack Rumble...

I have seen some excitement in the blogs over the arrest of Jack Rumble in Ogdenstown, New York, near Watertown. Before checking into the story, I read several accounts in the blogs which seem to claim Mr. Rumble was targeted because he had a bunker, three months or more of food, and that he made AK-47s (apparently he did have an FFL, but not sure if the reference is to semi-auto or Class III).

We should all slow down, think, and do a little research before we jump on the "See, government is out to get us!" bandwagon. Jumping aboard is a waste of energy, makes us look like paranoid crackpots, and creates dangerous hysteria that someone may act on.

I did a little checking on the arrest of Mr. Rumble, and found the following:
--some of Mr. Rumble's neighbors were afraid of him
--there are allegations that Mr. Rumble was involved in drug activity
--there are allegations that Mr. Rumble possessed a gun with eradicated serial number
--the police and feds had a search warrant
--the investigation of Mr. Rumble was related to a larger investigation into drug activity and illegal possession of weapons

Don't get me wrong here. I am not saying that Mr. Rumble is guilty of any of the allegations made against him, nor am I saying that he does deserves to be shunned because of the allegations. No one should make such a rush to judgment. By the same token, no one should rush to judge that the government is somehow persecuting Mr. Rumble because he is alleged to be a survivalist with lots of guns, food, and an anti-government mentality.

Mr. Rumble is innocent until proven guilty. What we should scrupulously examine is whether he obtains a fair trial by a jury of his peers. If we believe in our Constitution, we must be vigilant about due process of law for Mr. Rumble.

Why I'm doing this....

I just made the first post to this, my brand-new blog. Although I don't expect that anyone will be reading this, I thought that I should explain why I am doing what I am doing. One day, I may need to remind myself why I started writing.

I am just sick and tired of watching this country waste away. I have had it with wienies telling me that my rights are subservient to the special interest group of the day. Likewise with the idea that I should have to give up rights to make other people feel comfortable and included. I have the right to speak my mind, and I intend to do it here.


Like some other bloggers I read every day, I believe conditions in this country are such that some kind of societal upheaval is on its way. I don't know if it will be the current economic depression, some other internal strife, or outside forces. Whatever it may be, I started prepping a few years ago so that my family and I can be somewhat self-sufficient on that fateful day when the power is off, the water stops running, and the stores are closed.


To me, all of the above boils down to writing about guns, politics, survival, and the decline of civilization which is the modern era. These are the topics with which I perpetually annoy those around me. Now they can have some time off.....
