A Trade You Can Believe In

This would be a change I could actually believe in.

Scorecard: Obama has pen and phone; Boehner has Constitution and ......... No Balls

Once again, liberal tooth fairy and temporarily President Barack "Barry Soetoro" Obama is threatening to deliver goodies to his people in the dead of night, using his mighty pen and telephone to issue dictatorial orders if that bad ole' Congress does not march in lockstep with him.  Once upon a time, in the America I grew up in, that bad ole' Congress would put the kibosh on the tyrannical fool in the White House and refuse to fund his executive branch bullies.  Anyone remember Henry Hyde and Todd Tiahrt?  And on extreme occasions the possibility of impeachment was openly discussed.  On rarer occasions acted upon.

Then there is Congressman John Boehner, Speaker of the House.  I won't say defender of liberty, because I just can't see him in that role. Defender of statism, cronyism, and the status quo?  Most definitely.  Mr. Boehner's response to Soetoro-Obama?  "We have the Constitution."  Literally.  Go look at his Facebook page.  Even has a "hero shot", looking up at Mr. Boehner as he holds some document in his hand.  Judging from past experience with Mr. Boehner, he is probably holding his new agreement with the Obama White House for him to personally clean its septic tank for $1,000,000.00, payable by Mr. Boehner.

As I scrolled down Mr. Boehner's Facebook page, I noticed that Mr. Boehner actually has a little bit more to say on the topic:  "President Obama says he has a pen and a phone he can use to bypass Congress. Pens and phones are nice, but we have the Constitution..."  A bit further down the page, I was heartened to see that Americans are not the rubes that Mr. Boehner takes us for.  Commentary was decidedly critical of Mr. Boehner, mostly not in a way favorable to Mr. Soetoro-Obama.  Some of the more recent comments:

"What's taking so long for YOU to do SOMETHING!? Appoint a special committee to investigate Benghazi, already! Impeach Eric Holder for lying to congress about Fast and Furious. And, prosecute those responsible for using the IRS to harass American citizens, all the way up to and including those in, the White House. Do it! Now!";

"When you take action to stop this dictator,then I will start to believe you. When he is impeached then I might start to trust you. Until then it is all blah,blah,blah.";

"Then use it! Impeach him! and read the comments on this post.. The people of the country are tired of your words and no ACTION...Mr Speaker!";

and my favorite:

"Grow a pair and go get him."

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone.  Hope this year is better than the last.

Working on my resolutions, what I have come up with so far:

1)  I am not going to argue politics, history, or philosophy with collectivists.  Too many of them in my profession and it is just not worth the trouble arguing with the illiterati.

2)  I am going to try to find a church and get spiritually "right".

3)  I am going to get out and do some shooting this year, an activity I largely curtailed in 2013.

Hope everyone else has a great year in 2014.

Unarmed Woman Murdered in the District of Criminals

Just yesterday I was remarking on the killing of Miriam Carey by the Washington, District of Criminals Police.  Ms. Carey had no weapons in her possession.  What made her dangerous was her driving.  In more civilized cities, police drive the car off the road or box it in.  In the District of Criminals, the lives of two-legged slugs such as Obama, Reid, and Pelosi are considered so valuable that the extraordinary measure of state execution is justified.  Tyranny has not only reared its head, it was broadcast on every TV station, printed in every newspaper, and splashed across the world wide web.  Like a good lapdog, the media laps at the bowl provided by its Obo-master and expels the flatulence it calls news.  How sickening.

Bill Buppert expressed it better than I in Celebrating Thuggery: Clown Posse on the Potomac.

Sign the Petition to Give Obama's Nobel Peace Prize to Putin

Putin kept us out of a war in Syria, has called for defending the Christians in Syria, and opposes the terrorist rebels in Syria.  Obama wants us to go to war in Syria, has done absolutely nothing to defend oppressed Christians in the Middle East and North Africa, and has supported Islamist rebels not only in Syria, but in Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt.  Which one really deserves the Nobel Peace Prize?  My vote is for Vladimir Putin.

Vote here.

Quote of the Day

"George W. Bush, the object of endless scorn and derision, had 30 countries behind him a "Coalition of the Willing" that supported us, joined us, sent troops. Obama, OTOH, has no one. Not even Congress. Not even the American people. The effete commander in chief is going it alone. How's returning the Winston Churchill statue working out for you, Mr. President?"

Pamela Geller, at Atlas Shrugs.

Ms. Geller's article, that I have linked to, has another quote that sums up my feelings about the misadventures of Obama in Syria.  That Germans "sense a possible "Archduke of Ferdinand" response igniting a World War too close to home".  I note that Secretary of State Lurch was set up as the fall guy, so that Obama has cover whether it was a mistake, a war crime, or decides on another apology.

Quote of the Day: I am Spartacus because...

"I am Spartacus because a Rodeo Clown CAN laugh at the king. As can we all. As SHOULD we all."

--Sarah Hoyt, at According to Hoyt

Just so we know what I'm referring to, the Missouri rodeo clown:

Exercising his Constitutional right to freedom of expression and poking fun at the real clown:
