Meet the real Walter Cronkite

Maybe that crackpot Dan Rather was an improvement on "Uncle Walter" after all.

I knew that Uncle Walter editorialized on-air against the Vietnam war, which some believe was the point public opinion began turning against our efforts in the war and was the beginning for Democrats in Congress to abandon South Vietnam.

I didn't know that he was an off-the-cliff flaming liberal in favor of strengthening the United Nations into a One World Government and giving up American sovereignty. I'm glad the old bastard retired when he did. In comparison, Dan Rather looks like a right winger.

Then there is the invariably-perky-to-the-point-of-nauseating Katie Couric, who compares herself to Uncle Walter (thanks, NewsBusters). At least Cronkite gave an air of respectability to being a left-wing loon.
